The NFL and Nike officially revealed new community-inspired alternate uniforms on Thursday morning for the eight AFC East and NFC West teams as part of their new “Rivalries” series, including the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
The uniforms – which bring to mind MLB’s City Connect and the NBA’s City Edition programs – will debut during a home game against a divisional opponent and will remain in the team’s rotation for three seasons, which would conceivably allow them to be worn against a different opponent each year.
This year’s matchups feature the Seahawks at Cardinals on Sept. 25, Jets at Dolphins on Sept. 29, Patriots at Bills on Oct. 5, Jets at Patriots on Nov. 13, Seahawks at Rams on Nov. 16, Dolphins at Jets on Dec. 7, Rams at Seahawks on Dec. 18 and Seahawks at 49ers on a to-be-determined Week 18 date.
The “Rivalries” series will expand to the AFC South and NFC North in 2026, AFC West and NFC East in 2027 and the AFC North and NFC South in 2028, marking the first league-wide uniform promotion since the Color Rush program that debuted in 2015 and ran though the 2017 season.
Now, let’s take a look at the new designs for each team. But before we do, it’s worth noting the uniforms will not be worn against each other and do not count toward the NFL’s revised rules, which allow teams to wear alternate or throwback uniforms as many as four times each season.
AFC East
Buffalo Bills

The Bills unveiled all-white “Cold Front” uniforms, which are an obvious nod to the blizzards that impact Buffalo yearly, with silver number and a silver version of their “Charging Buffalo” logo on their helmets and sleeves as a nod to the “Nickel City.”
The uniforms are completely devoid of red, but feature a royal blue “Buffalo” wordmark on the chest, royal blue outlines on the logos and numbers that maintain the Bills’ block number font. There’s also a raised texture pattern on the sleeve logo and an ice-like design on the pants and helmet stripe.
Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins revealed a dark navy blue uniform that features an orange “Miami” wordmark across the chest, aqua numbers with a reflective film outline – similar to the Los Angeles Rams’ numbers – and a fin-like design on the sleeves.
The look is complete with a dark navy blue helmet that features a modified version of their primary logo on the sides and reflective stripes down the center, as well as “305” and a sunburst design from their logo on the front and back bumpers, respectively.
New England Patriots

The Patriots unveiled the first “Storm Blue” jerseys in franchise history, which are – interestingly – are also almost complete devoid of red or navy blue and instead feature white numbers with royal blue drop shadow and a new “NE” logo on the sleeves that are inspired by nautical lettering.
The uniforms also feature six red stars on the collar and maintain the Patriots’ UCLA stripes on the shoulders, though they – and the stripes down the sides of the paints – have a fishing net pattern. The white helmets, meanwhile feature a “Storm Blue” blue, metallic silver and white version of their “Flying Elvis” logo.
New York Jets

The Jets’ new “Gotham City Football” uniforms revive the UCLA stripes they wore on their shoulders from 1998-2018 but include a swamp green base and black sleeve caps that feature a sublimated design similar to manhole covers seen on the streets of New York City.
The jerseys, which feature a Gothic-style number font, are paired with the Jets’ standard black helmets, though they’ve swapped the decals for an iron ore “JETS” wordmark that features a dark green stroke and added their new secondary logo to the front bumper.
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals

As expected, the Cardinals leaned into their warmer desert landscape with sand-colored uniforms that feature a texture pattern throughout, similar to Oregon’s speckled eggshell uniforms, as well as a new logo based on the state flag and outline on the sleeves.
The sand-colored helmet features a red facemask and a modified version of Arizona’s primary logo on the sides, taking its cues from the Pyrrhuloxia (or desert cardinal) with a copper beak. The new accent color can also be seen in the numbers and sleeve patches.
Los Angeles Rams

The Rams also unveiled dark navy blue (almost black) “Midnight Mode” uniforms on Thursday that have seemingly been in the works since they revealed their current design in 2020 and subsequently shared their desire to drop a new alternate each season, though that never came to fruition.
The uniforms follow the same template as their white road uniforms, with sol (yellow) horns on the shoulders and a royal blue sleeve cap, though that includes a gradient design. There are also white numbers outlined in blue, as well as royal blue and sol stripes down the sides of the pants.
San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers will once again wear black uniforms, just as they did from 2015-17, though this time, it will be paired with a new black helmet that features San Francisco’s primary logo on the sides, two red stripes down the center and a gold facemask.
The uniforms display a gold “Faithful” wordmark – which was part of their refreshed brand identity that debuted this summer – across the chest above Saloon-style drop-shadow numbers, as well as a traditional red striping pattern on the sleeves and down the sides of the pants.
Seattle Seahawks

Without a doubt the most unique design of the bunch, the Seahawks unveiled new Wolf gray jerseys that include a sound wave effect on the shoulders and down the sides of the pants as a nod to the decibel level of the fans at Lumen Field.
The iridescent green helmet, numbers and sound wave effect are also a tribute to the “Emerald City” and reflect differently based on how the lights hit them, while the numbers feature a sublimated “12” pattern rather than their usual totem-style design
