The New York Rangers have added their 100th anniversary logo to centre ice at Madison Square Garden.
The mark, originally unveiled back in March, features a 100 in the Rangers’ familiar red-with-white-shadow sweater number style, set above the Rangers’ shield logo. That shield had been redrawn with what the club says is their original typography, as well as a lighter shade of blue.
The containing shape of the logo is that of what the Rangers have historically identified as their first-ever shield logo, along with a darker blue background as a nod to the team’s colours during the Original Six era. Three horizontal red and white stripes appear behind the shield. A circular blue ring around the anniversary logo reads “New York Rangers” and “Madison Square Garden.” This element is exclusive to the on-ice application and not part of the logo itself.

Season-long celebrations will be held at the Garden as part of the Rangers’ 100th anniversary milestone. A special centennial jersey (following the lead of other teams to celebrate 100 seasons) has yet to be revealed, but what is known is that the club will participate in the 2026 Winter Classic in Florida against the back-to-back defending Stanley Cup Champions. Aside, it’s pretty wild to think the Florida Panthers have won twice as many Stanley Cups since 2024 as the Rangers have since 1942… then again, as a Leafs fan, I really have no room to make such a comparison.
Anywho. Fans will get their first look at the new centre ice logo in regular season action with the Rangers’ 8 p.m. ET home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday, October 7th.
“The New York Rangers are one of the premier franchises, not just in the National Hockey League, but in all of professional sports,” Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury said when the centennial mark was first revealed in March 2025. “As we approach our Centennial year, we are proud and excited about the opportunity to honour our legacy with our fans.”
Founded in 1926, the Rangers were part of the NHL’s Original Six from 1942 through 1967. The Rangers are one of three NHL teams marking their centennial season in 2025-26 alongside the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings.
