If you were hoping sales flopped and the NFL would abandon its “Rivalries” program before your favorite team unveiled a new alternate uniform, we have some bad news.
According to Sports Business Journal, Wednesday’s retail release marked the highest-selling product launch in Fanatics history and the company’s top day of merchandise sales this year.
In fact, the “Rivalries” jerseys, hats and other related merchandise accounted for 80 percent of all sales across Fanatics’ network of online stores, which also includes sales on NFLShop.com.
Fanatics noted that the San Francisco 49ers, who revealed an all-black design, were the top-selling team on Wednesday, while Buffalo Bills quarterback and reigning MVP Josh Allen was the top-selling player.

Other AFC East and NFC West teams featured in this year’s rendition of the “Rivalries” series are the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.
The matchups feature the Seahawks at Cardinals on Sept. 25, Jets at Dolphins on Sept. 29, Patriots at Bills on Oct. 5, Jets at Patriots on Nov. 13, Seahawks at Rams on Nov. 16, Dolphins at Jets on Dec. 7, Rams at Seahawks on Dec. 18 and Seahawks at 49ers on a to-be-determined Week 18 date.
The uniforms won’t be worn against each other and will only be showcased by the home team. The “Rivalries” series will then expand to the AFC South and NFC North in 2026, AFC West and NFC East in 2027 and the AFC North and NFC South in 2028.
