The Kingston Frontenacs are one of four Canadian Hockey League teams who, as of last Wednesday, had yet to receive their full complement of jerseys from new league-wide supplier Under Armour, according to a report.
The Kingston Whig-Standard reported on Wednesday, September 10, that the Ontario Hockey League team was busy putting contingency plans in place in case their new sweaters didn’t arrive in time for their home opener on Saturday, September 19, against the Ottawa 67s.
The Frontenacs have been wearing black CCM practice jerseys in their three preseason games so far in 2025. Their last preseason game is on Sunday, September 14, against the Sudbury Wolves in Stouffville, Ontario.

The Whig-Standard quotes a statement from CHL media spokesperson Chris Seguin issued on Tuesday, September 9:
“There was an issue found during quality control with the unique, metallic fabric that has impacted the uniform production schedule for four CHL clubs in total, including the Kingston Frontenacs, We are confident that all clubs will have game sweaters ahead of the start of the season.”

According to KingstonDaily.ca, Frontenacs manager of game operations and communications Jordan Jackson said in an email that, if the Under Armour jerseys weren’t received on time, the team would have old CCM jerseys from previous season ready to go for opening night.

The CHL didn’t identify the other three teams affected by the quality control issue with the metallic fabric.
The CHL announced in May 2025 that the league had signed a five-year contract with Under Armour to become their new jersey supplier for all 61 teams in the OHL, the Western Hockey League and the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League, starting in 2025-26. They also announced a deal with Bauer to supply equipment including sticks, helmets, gloves, protective gear, skates, goaltending equipment and team apparel.
Along with their home and away jerseys, the Frontenacs announced in August that they’re planning to bring back a recoloured version of their Count Frontenac logo — which they used as a primary logo from 2001 to 2009 — on a third jersey this season. The schedule released at the time had the debut of the third jersey slated for Friday, October 17, also against the 67s.
