Jacksonville Jaguars To Wear “Prowler” Throwback Uniforms On Monday Night Football

The Jacksonville Jaguars will wear their “Prowler” throwback uniforms for the second time this season when they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, which kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Jaguars originally wore these uniforms – which feature a black helmet with their original logo on the sides, teal jerseys with a full-bodied jaguar logo on the sleeves and white pants with a teal, gold and black striping pattern down the sides – from 1998-2007.

They were revived and worn twice last season, including a victory over the Indianapolis Colts and a loss to the New York Jets. Jacksonville also wore its white alternate helmets in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings, maximizing the number of times it could wear an alternate or classic uniform.

The NFL has since revised its uniform policy to allow teams to wear alternate and/or throwback designs as many as four times each season, so the Jaguars have dropped their black alternate jerseys and white alternate helmets to wear the “Prowler” set two additional times this fall.

That includes their 17-10 win over the Houston Texans on Sept. 21, with additional appearances planned for this evening and divisional matchups with the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 7 and Tennessee Titans in Week 18 (Jan. 3 or 4).

The Jaguars will also paint the field at EverBank Stadium with a matching vintage design that displays their classic logo at midfield and black end zones with throwback wordmarks, as well as NFL and AFC logos that resemble their design during the 1998 and 1999 playoffs.
