The San Jose Barracuda are bringing back one of their core colours in the form of a new third jersey for the new American Hockey League season.
The AHL affiliate of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks introduced the new sweaters last week, and they’ll wear them on the ice for the first time during their home opener against the Bakersfield Condors on Saturday, October 11.
After wearing grey, black and white jerseys for the past few years, the new Barracuda third brings back teal as a base jersey colour. The front of the jersey features a barracuda chomping through a hockey stick in front of a roundel with “SAN JOSE BARRACUDA” written around the top and “HOCKEY CLUB” around the bottom.

The top halves of the sleeves are black and the forearms are teal, with the two sides separated by teal, grey, white and black striping. At the waist, a black panel is bordered by teal and white stripes, along with another grey stripe above. The left shoulder has the logo of their parent club while the right shoulder has a logo with a barracuda fin protruding from a circle. The collar is solid black with white laces at the front.

Along with the unveiling of the new teal sweater, the Barracuda announced that their jersey rotation for 2025-26 would also include their grey jersey and their black jersey. The front crest of the grey jersey has been updated, with the stick-chomping barracuda replacing one that was holding a hockey stick.

The black jersey was introduced last season as part of the Barracuda’s 10th anniversary celebrations. The rotation announcement means the Barracuda’s white jersey is the odd one out, at least for the 2025-26 season.

The Barracuda open their AHL regular season with four out of their first six games at home before the end of October. Other visitors to the Tech CU Arena in San Jose this month include the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Milwaukee Admirals and the Ontario Reign.
