Hey, is your refrigerator running? Then you’d better catch it! But what if your refrigerator is skating? The Milwaukee Admirals are about to find out.
The American Hockey League affiliate of the Nashville Predators announced on Wednesday, October 22, that, to mark the AHL’s 90th anniversary, they’re bringing back their retro fridge logo and putting it on a new jersey that will be worn for at least five games throughout the 2025-26 season.
The fridge logo was designed by Dan Simon of Studio Simon and first introduced during the Admirals’ 50th anniversary season in 2019-20, but jerseys bearing it never saw game action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, six years later, the skating, stickhandling anthropomorphic appliance is back and ready for game action.

The 2025 jerseys have an off-white base with navy blue shoulder yokes, navy blue forearms and a navy blue stripe around the waist. Red laces hang from the front of the collar, and numbers on the sleeves and back are red with navy blue outlines.

The Fridge Jerseys are a nod to the nascent days of the Admirals and their original owner Erv Merar. Back in 1970 Merar bought the Ads, who at the time were a semi-professional team that played out of Wilson Park. In his day job, Merar owned an appliance store and his best-selling line were Admiral Appliances, which included refrigerators, and so he decided to that this would be a great opportunity to cross-promote his store and hockey team and thus, the Milwaukee Admirals were born.

Along with the jerseys, the Admirals are putting the fridge logo on a line of merchandise, including T-shirts, hats, hoodies and beer koozies. Those are available for purchase through the team’s online shop.

While Merar picked the name “Admirals” to cross-promote the appliance brand, it appears the team has always leaned into the nautical definition of the term, or at least kept it pretty neutral in the early days.

The Admirals will wear the fridge jerseys for select road games (still to be determined) as well as five home games this season:
- December 27 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins
- February 7 vs. Rockford IceHogs
- February 28 vs. Manitoba Moose
- March 1 vs. Manitoba Moose
- April 11 vs. Chicago Wolves
At the end of the season, the Admirals will sell game-worn fridge jerseys through a silent auction, with proceeds going toward the Admirals Power Play Foundation.
