AHL’s Manitoba Moose Bring Back 25th Season Celebration Jerseys As Thirds

The American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose surprised their fans this week by bringing back a popular jersey from last season as their new third jersey for 2025-26.

The Moose made the announcement on their social media channels on Thursday, October 23, that their 25th season celebration jerseys from 2024-25 would return as an alternate this season with a few tweaks.

The jerseys have a light blue base and feature a recolored version of the team’s “Happy Moose” logo. The Moose used a green and purple version of this logo when they were members of the International Hockey League from 1996 to 2001, and then a green and black version from 2001, when they moved to the AHL, until 2005.

In 2011, the Winnipeg Jets brought NHL hockey back to the city, meaning the Moose moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, where they were renamed the St. John’s IceCaps. But in 2015, the team moved back to Winnipeg and the Moose name and logo were revived, but the logo was recolored to match the Jets’ palette.

Differences between the 2024-25 jerseys and the 2025-26 version include the removal of the “25 Seasons” patch from the chest and the replacement of the “MM” patch on the right shoulder with a second primary logo of their NHL parent club, the Winnipeg Jets. The navy blue shoulder yokes and the white, silver and navy blue stripes around the sleeves and waist remain.

The Moose’s social media posts didn’t specify when they’d wear the sweaters for the first time this season or how often they would be worn. Their next game is at home on Friday, October 24, against the Grand Rapids Griffins.
