The Houston Texans are set to wear their “H-Town Blue” Color Rush uniforms for – quite possibly – the only time this season when they host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
The Texans are 1-1 in the dark navy blue uniforms since they were unveiled as part of a full redesign in 2024, including a win over the Buffalo Bills and a loss the Baltimore Ravens last season.
The dark navy blue helmets prominently display Houston’s secondary “H” logo on the sides, as well as a subtle red flake throughout, separating them from the Texans’ primary dark navy blue lids.
The jerseys, meanwhile, feature red beveled numbers with an “H-Town Blue” stroke, an “H-Town” wordmark across the chest and a two-color version of Houston’s primary logo on the sleeves.
The look is complete with dark navy blue pants that include a thick red and small “H-Town Blue” stripe, matching the pants design on their dark navy blue home, white road and “Battle Red” alternate threads.
Of course, the “H-Town Blue” accents directly appeal to the fans who consider the Houston Oilers as their own despite the nickname, logo and color scheme being the intellectual property of the Tennessee Titans.
The teams ultimately reached a compromise for the Texans to add light blue to their color scheme as part of last year’s redesign, restricting it to an unspecified percentage of their uniforms and the secondary mark.
Houston will also paint an alternate design on the turf at NRG Stadium for Sunday’s game, with the “H” logo at midfield and to the right of a red “H-Town” wordmark in the navy blue end zones, while the two-color primary logo sits to the left.
It’s the same design the Texans used in the aforementioned games last season. They’re not currently scheduled to wear the “H-Town Blue” uniforms again this season, while their “Battle Red” threads will return against the Bills on Nov. 20.
