Heading into its ninth season next year, the Canadian Premier League is switching things up when it comes to jerseys.
Since its first season in 2019, CanPL teams have exclusively worn kits made by Italian manufacturer Macron. But that will change in 2026, as the league announced on Thursday, November 6, that it has signed a multi-year contract with Danish sportswear brand Hummel.
Together, hummel and CSB [Canadian Soccer Business, owners of the Canadian Premier League] will aim to create a unified visual identity for the CPL that reflects the league’s ambition and the potential for Canadian soccer from coast to coast, while building on clubs’ reputation for producing world-class kit designs and storytelling that connects to their communities.

Hummel had a strong foothold in Canadian soccer even before Thursday’s announcement, as they already supplied League1 (the highest level of men’s pro-am soccer in Canada) and the Northern Super League. They also outfit Denmark’s national teams, as well as high-profile Bundesliga and La Liga teams Werder Bremen, 1. FC Köln and Real Betis.

The partnership means Hummel will produce fully customized kits for each of the CanPL’s nine clubs — including expansion team FC Supra, based out of Laval, Québec — along with league-branded merchandise and official apparel for CanPL staff.
“Our expanded partnership with hummel reflects the momentum behind Canadian soccer and the Canadian Premier League. Following the successful introduction of hummel through League1 Canada, we’re proud to bring their global brand and design expertise to the men’s professional game. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to integration across our leagues, creating a more unified and recognizable visual identity that strengthens their presence within the Canadian soccer landscape.”

Hummel was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark. The company’s signature design element is a set of chevrons that appears on pretty much every kit they produce. They often appear on the shoulders, although sometimes they’re in the side panels.

The first Hummel CanPL kits will be released in early 2026.
