The NBA has revealed the court design for the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup semifinals and championship game, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 13 and 16, respectively.
The court, designed by artist Victor Solomon, shares several characteristics with the team-specific designs that were used during group play and the quarterfinals, none more recognizable than the trophy at midcourt and inside the keys.
There’s also an oversized sublimated bracket that matches the logos, phrases or graphics that were used by the individual teams, as well as a grid overlay with a gradient pattern that shifts from the bottom corners to the top center of the court.
The team courts had a five-by-five grid that represented the five players on the floor and the five teams in each pool play group, with the Eastern Conference having darker corners in the top left/bottom right, while it was flipped for the Western Conference.
The wood-colored court is complete with the Emirates NBA Cup logo at midcourt and wordmark along the bottom baselines, an advertisement for Michelob ULTRA along the top baselines and an advertisement for Emirates along the top sideline.
It is surrounded by a black out-of-bounds area that features a red-to-blue gradient block design along the bottom sideline, once again representing the Eastern and Western Conferences.
Of course, the color of the court is notable, as the inaugural In-Season Tournament in 2023 featured a fully painted design to match the team-specific courts that created contrast issues against some of the participants’ uniforms.
Rather than wearing their City Edition uniforms as planned, the semifinalists and finalists instead wore a combination of their Association, Icon and/or Statement Edition uniforms in the final two rounds of the tournament.
This year’s NBA Cup, meanwhile, saw the home team wear their Statement designs, as will be the case when the Phoenix Suns visit the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs face the Los Angeles Lakers this evening.
The winners of those games will meet in the Western Conference semifinals on Saturday, while the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks will go head to head after winning their respective quarterfinals games last night.
