Seattle Seahawks To Debut New “Rivalries” Uniforms On Thursday Night Football

The Seattle Seahawks will debut their new Nike “Rivalries” uniforms during Thursday night’s pivotal game against the Los Angeles Rams, which kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime.

The wolf gray uniforms, which were unveiled as part of an eight-team rollout in August, are undoubtedly the most unique of the bunch, with a sound wave effect on the shoulders and down the sides of the pants as a nod to the decibel level of the fans at Lumen Field.

The iridescent green helmets, numbers and sound wave effect are also a tribute to the “Emerald City” and reflect differently based on how the lights hit them, while the numbers also feature a sublimated “12” pattern rather than Seattle’s usual totem-style design.

The helmets feature a metallic chrome finish and a transparent version of Seattle’s primary logo to let the iridescent effect shine through, while the uniforms are complete with a “12” flag on the back collar to further emphasize the Seahawks’ connection to their fanbase.

The “Rivalries” uniforms – which bring to mind MLB’s City Connect and NBA’s City Edition programs – will be worn just once this season but will remain in the rotation for three seasons, which would conceivably allow them to be worn in a home game against a different divisional opponent.

The series kicked off with the AFC East and NFC West and will expand to the AFC South and NFC North in 2026, AFC West and NFC East in 2027 and AFC North and NFC South in 2028, marking the first league-wide uniform promotion since the Color Rush program debuted in 2015.

The Seahawks are the seventh team to wear their “Rivalries” uniforms this year, joining the Rams, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets, while the San Francisco 49ers will wear their design in Week 18.

Interestingly, Seattle has been (or will be) involved in every “Rivalries” matchup within the NFC West this season, including a win at the Cardinals on Sept. 25, a 21-19 loss to the Rams on Nov. 16 and the regular-season finale at the 49ers.

This marks the fourth appearance for an alternate or throwback design for Seattle this season, though it’s worth noting the “Rivalries” design doesn’t count toward the number of times a team can wear an alternate or throwback uniform each season, leaving the Seahawks with one open spot.

It’s unlikely they’ll break out their Action green Color Rush set in one of their final two road games, however, meaning they’ll go unused for the first time since 2016. Meanwhile, they’ve already worn their 1990s-era throwback uniforms three times this season.

That includes wins over the Washington Commanders on Nov. 2 and Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 30 and a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 5. The games against the Buccaneers and Commanders were notable in that both teams wore a throwback (or throwback-inspired) uniform.
