This is a pretty big year for the University of Miami and their athletic program, mainly because it’s the beginning of a new relationship with their new supplier, adidas. However, this relationship may have gotten off to a bit of a leaky start, as we’ve gotten a look at what could possibly be their new uniforms.
As usual with leaks, the details aren’t exactly crystal clear. Make no mistake, this is a pretty blurry photo, but we can make out some of the basic details:
First off, there’s six sets of uniforms on display here, which means that we’ve probably got another case of a college football team opening themselves up to as many uniform combos as possible. Also, it appears that we’ve got two green jerseys, two white jerseys, an orange jersey, and an obligatory black jersey.
The two most interesting things here, in my opinon, are the helmet and that set of green pants with the “U” logo plastered on it. First off, the Hurricanes have had their traditional white helmet with white facemask for a very long time now. However, it appears that even though all of the uniforms have white helmets, the facemask doesn’t appear to be white. Could we be seeing a change in that regard? As far as that unique set of pants is concerned, it lines up with some pants that we saw various adidas schools wear last season, so this could very well be legit.
Now, keep in mind that we are looking at a prototype here, as noted by CBS Miami:
Although the new uni’s aren’t officially expected to be unveiled until next month, images leaked yesterday on CanesInsight that a Palm Beach Post source says “is the real thing … but they are not quite the real thing,” saying the leak is “legit, but it’s an older version.”
So, it’s probably wise to expect something similar to this when we see the real deal. But what do you think of the unis so far?
