The Los Angeles Chargers are celebrating the 60th season in their franchise’s history in 2019, and now they have a commemorative logo to go with it. Los Angeles is rightfully including the franchise’s time in the American Football League (1960-69) and San Diego (1961-2016) in calculating the 60 season milestone this year.
First spotted on the official team website (shout out to Brian Taylor/@OHLChampion2014 for the tip), the logo is diamond shaped in the team’s retro colours of powder blue and yellow. A large “60” is placed in the middle of the diamond in white with a drop shadow effect to give it some depth, the classic arched lightning bolt in yellow and white is above, a simple white lightning bolt below.
Take a look, along with some previous milestone anniversary season logos during the Chargers long time in San Diego:
The Chargers will be throwing a special 60th season (and NFL 100th season) “Fantennial Bolts Bash” on September 21st. The event is open to fans and includes appearances from several Chargers alumni and hall of famers.
