With the college basketball season right around the corner, programs across the country have started unveiling their new uniforms. The latest team to do so was Iowa, which offered a glimpse of its new home threads on Tuesday evening.
While we’ve yet to get a full head-to-toe look at Iowa’s new uniforms, the teaser video posted above shows a few notable changes from the last set.
First and foremost, the Hawkeyes have replaced their arched and outlined wordmark with a straight, single-color design. The custom font remains on both the wordmark and numbers, however.
Iowa has also dropped its chevron-like shorts design in favor of yellow pinstriped side panels, swapped its Tigerhawk logo with the word “Hawks” on the waistband and added black armholes. The Hawkeyes’ primary mark will now likely appear on the bottom portion of the shorts, though it’s unclear the exact location.
Iowa, which made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, opens the 2019-20 campaign on Nov. 8 against SIU Edwardsville.
