Overnight we saw two more new NBA “City Edition” jerseys leaked to social media, the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks.
SportsLogos.Net is able to confirm through our good old friend “Reliable Source” that both of these jerseys are legit and will be worn by the clubs during the upcoming 2020-21 season.

First, the Brooklyn Nets, who are carrying on their theme of honouring a local artist with their City uniform. This time that artist is Brooklyn-born Jean-Michel Basquiat who started out as a street artist in the 1970s before making a very successful transition to galleries in the 1980s. Basquiat died at the age of 27 in 1988.
The jersey is black with “BKLYN NETS” across the front in white, several multi-coloured designs are featured along either side of the jersey as well as around the team wordmark on the chest in Basquiat’s style. A few custom touches complete the look, the Nike swoosh is also designed to fit the style, presented here in blue with a gold outline rather than it’s usual one-colour appearance. The NBA logo on the “jock tag” has been given a crown with the artist’s name written above.
In previous seasons the Nets had worn “City” uniforms paying tribute to Notorious B.I.G. which had resulted in the team facing some legal issues over the pattern used on the uniform.
Moving on to the Dallas Mavericks who are going away from their usual double blue and silver colour scheme for their new “City Edition” uniform.
The jersey features “DALLAS” in gold with silver trim across the chest with the player’s number below and to the left in silver with gold trim. And while my first thought on this design was “ah, gold must be for the tenth anniversary of their 2011 NBA Championship”, I was told it’s to celebrate the club’s 40th anniversary.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much beyond the chest and back, in the first pic you can see the collar is gold but we don’t get a look at any side striping (if there is any).

These two leaks follow the two leaked Los Angeles Lakers uniforms we already saw earlier, as well as the league’s complete “Classic” Edition set which features throwbacks from several teams including both the Nets and Mavs.
