The Double-A Tulsa Drillers celebrated #NationalHatDay by introducing a new logo and on-field cap. The alternate D logo, which is drawn from the D in the Drillers’ script wordmark, will be paired with the team’s home white and road grays.
While the D presumably stands for Drillers, the team is an affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and this logo evokes the parent club’s Spring Training D caps, which were first worn by the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City.
We’re not sure when we’ll see the new look on the field, as minor leagues at the Double-A level and below know already that their 2021 season will begin late.
