Football meets basketball with the new Jordan Brand home jersey for French Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain, which was released on Friday, May 14.
The 2021-22 jersey is a big departure from PSG’s usual look, because it does not include a red-and-white vertical stripe running down the front. This is a design element that the club has worn in some iteration since the 1970s and is closely associated with former club president and fashion designer Daniel Hechter.
The jersey does still have vertical stripes on the front, but they are tonal blue stripes. A wavy tonal pattern radiates out from the collar, a feature of other Nike jerseys and training gear for 2021-22. Despite the lack of a Hechter stripe, red and white are still present on the jersey with trim around the collar and sleeve cuffs.
The collar and cuff trim are mirrored on the hems of the shorts. On the sides of the shorts, it morphs into a diamond shape, taking cues from uniforms worn by the Jordan Brand’s namesake with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls.
The new Paris Saint-Germain home shirt retains the club’s classic colours of white, blue and red, with stylish red and white trim adorning the sleeves and collar. It is a timeless design that draws on the rich heritage of the club’s iconic shirts. Reflecting the Paris Saint-Germain DNA, the shirt is high on Parisian elegance and style.
Continuing the tradition of the pioneering collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan Brand over the last four years, the shorts rework the famous Chicago Bulls diamond motif, while the collection as a whole fuses the club’s identity with the iconic stylings of basketball and street culture.

This is the fourth year of PSG’s partnership with the Jordan Brand, but the first time the Jumpman logo will appear on their home jersey. It has appeared on away, third and fourth kits in past years.
Along with the jersey, PSG released a line of training and lifestyle wear. This includes two new Nike sneakers: an Air Jordan 7 model and a Jordan MA2 model.
