German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig made a surprise move on Saturday, breaking out their new away kits for next season in their 2020-21 Bundesliga finale at FC Union Berlin.
The Nike-made kits are mainly black, with blue, red and yellow streaks. The collars and sleeve cuffs are solid black, while the Nike logo on the chest is white. A glossy black stripe runs down each side.
The design mimics the red streaks found on Leipzig’s home kit for 2021-22. Both kits feature the club motto — “You Can Do Anything” — on the back near the collar.
The shorts and socks for the away kit are both solid black. The glossy black side stripes from the shirt continue onto the shorts. The back of the shirt has a solid black panel for names and numbers, which are rendered in white.
Leipzig unveiled their 2021-22 home kits on May 12, and wore them the next day in a 4-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal final. The away kits didn’t fare much better, as Leipzig lost 2-1 to Union Berlin.
