The Philadelphia Eagles paid tribute to Garrett Reid, the son of head coach Andy Reid who died Sunday morning at the age of 29, during last night’s pre-season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Every Eagles player wore a decal on the back of their helmet containing the initials “GR”, as you can sorta see above in the best photo I could find (seriously) of the memorial sticker (courtesy the Eagles Twitter account)
A moment of silence was also held before the game.
The Eagles had to request permission from the National Football League in order to wear the sticker for the game, they are expected to wear the sticker throughout the 2012 NFL season.
