Did a mascot just give us a sneak peek at the new 2013 NBA All-Star Game uniforms?
It’s possible as today we got our first glimpse at the 2013 NBA All-Star Game secondary logos package. Included in that set was the All-Star Game mascot logo – featuring the Houston Rockets mascot “Clutch” wearing an All-Star Game jersey.
If we zoom in and remove the mascot we get a better look at the uniform old Clutch is wearing:
As you can see, the jersey is red and blue with shooting stars going up either side of the shorts into the jersey top. WEST is spelled out on the front of the jersey with a small gold “2013” on the jersey collar. adidas logos and the standard NBA Star logo are all over the place. Unfortunately Clutch is not sporting his standard #00 so we don’t get to see the numbering.
There’s no guarantee that this will be the design, however the 2012 NBA All-Star Mascot logo showed Orlando’s mascot “Stuff” wearing a jersey very similar in execution to what the teams ended up going with. Also, typically the All-Star Mascot logo is wearing a jersey reading the host city name or a generic “ALLSTAR” text, not “WEST” like Clutch the Bear is here.
