As the first sweet sounds of Spring baseball hit our eardrums, we’re getting ourselves an early glimpse of what awaits us when the air gets a little crisper and cheeks get rosy this fall.
Thanks to the eagle eye of Twitter user @SRUnfiltered, we’ve got our first look at the new logo for Major League Baseball’s 2022 Postseason. The emblem shows “POSTSEASON” in navy blue with gold lines, two pennants – one gold, one silver (simmer down, Red Sox Nation), and the year on either side of these pennants in gold.
The logo was spotted by @SRUnfiltered on an MLB.com page promoting their MLB Audio package for the 2022 season and postseason.
Overall, the logo feels very similar to what was used in 2017 in terms of colours and overall structure. It also marks a return to blue and gold as the colour scheme of the league’s Postseason logo package as was used previously in 2017 and 2020 — the league typically bounces between red, white, and blue and blue and gold for this set.

We haven’t yet seen the 2022 World Series logo or any of the LCS, LDS, or Wildcard rounds, but as has been the case for at least a decade, all of these logos will follow a similar theme. Without seeing it, I can confidently predict the 2022 World Series logo will be blue and gold, use this font, and probably even incorporate pennants into it.
I know I’ll never get it, but I keep hoping for a return to this throwback beauty for the Fall Classic…
A boy can dream, can’t he?
