Tottenham Hotspur Boldly Go with New Away Kit for 2022-23 – Plus Other Unveilings from Around Europe

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are making a bold statement with their 2022-23 away kits.

The club unveiled the kits, made by Nike, on Thursday, July 14. They use Nike’s new Vaporknit template, which includes a pattern knit into the fabric. The shirt is mainly what the club calls “deep lapis blue,” with black sleeves and neon green (“volt”) sleeve cuffs and collar inserts at the front and back.

The sponsor logos on the chest and sleeve are white, as are the club crest and Nike logo, which are centered on the chest.

The kits will be worn for the first time when Spurs take on Spanish La Liga side Sevilla FC in a preseason friendly this Saturday in Suwon, South Korea.

LEEDS UNITED – Home

Premier League side Leeds United are sticking with tradition in 2022-23 with a predominantly white home kit made by Adidas. The white base is rounded off by navy blue Adidas shoulder stripes and a navy blue crew neck collar and sleeves cuffs with yellow trim. The new kit was worn for the first time Thursday as Leeds took on Brisbane Roar FC during a preseason tour of Australia.

AFC BOURNEMOUTH – Third

Premier League side AFC Bournemouth’s new third kit for 2022-23, made by Umbro, is inspired by their Everyone Together campaign, which aims to promote understanding and tackle prejudice. The shirt is almost entirely black, except for white and metallic gold stripes on the sleeve cuffs and “EVERYONE. TOGETHER.” written in white on the back collar. The logo of sponsor Dafabet appears in metallic gold and white on the front — though unsponsored shirts can be ordered through Bournemouth’s online store — and the Umbro logo and club crest appear in one-colour white applications.

RC CELTA DE VIGO – Home

Spanish La Liga side RC Celta de Vigo are back in their traditional sky blue home kits for 2022-23. The kits, made by Adidas, feature a subtle tonal checkboard pattern on the front that somewhat mirrors the club’s away kit released in late May that celebrates their 100th anniversary in 2023. The raglan sleeves, side panels and back are solid sky blue, while the V-neck collar and Adidas shoulder stripes are gold.

REAL VALLADOLID – Third

After unveiling their home and away kits, La Liga side Real Valladolid have rounded out their kits for 2022-23 by unveiling their new third kit, made by Adidas. The shirt is mostly white, with a large purple chevron dominating the chest. The sleeves are gold, as are the Adidas shoulder stripes and the trim around the white V-neck collar. The club crest on the left chest shines in a metallic gold application.

TORINO FC – Home and Away

Italian Serie A side Torino FC look to grab the bull by the horns in 2022-23 in their new home kit made by Joma. The kit retains Torino’s traditional home burgundy colour, but adds a tonal bull graphic on the bottom half, which is based on a past club crest. The sleeve cuffs and V-neck polo collar are also burgundy.

Meanwhile, the retro crest moves to a place of honour on the left chest on Torino’s away kit for 2022-23. The shirt is mostly white, with the same bull graphic as the home kit, but smaller, outlined in burgundy and shifted to the left. The collar and sleeve cuffs remain burgundy.

US SALERNITANA 1919 – Home and Away

Another Serie A side that traditionally wears burgundy, US Salernitana 1919, debuted both their home and away kits for 2022-23 with little fanfare, wearing them in preseason friendlies over the past week. The home kit, made by Zeus, is burgundy with white pinstripes down the front and black stripes down the sides. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs have black trim with white stripes through middle.

The away kit is predominantly white, with burgundy stripes of varying widths dividing the front of the shirt into quarters. There are burgundy stripes down the sides of the shirt, and collar and sleeve cuffs have burgundy trim.

US SASSUOLO – Away

Serie A side US Sassuolo look to bring style to the pitch in their 2022-23 away kit, made by Puma. The kit is mostly white, with a green band around the chest that contains the sponsor logo. Green stripes appear above the band on the left side, running under the club crest, and below the band on the right side. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid green.

UDINESE CALCIO – Away or Third

Here’s a bit of a weird one: Serie A side Udinese Calcio turned up for a preseason friendly on Tuesday, July 13, against Austrian club Rapid Lienz wearing an orange kit that they haven’t yet announced and isn’t for sale in their online store. Udinese’s traditional home look is black and white vertical stripes, so this orange kit is either the away or third kit, but we don’t have confirmation exactly which it is yet.

The kit itself is almost completely orange, save for a black splatter pattern on the shoulders that fades to orange moving down the raglan sleeves. There is also some black trim on the crew neck collar and on the sides, near the hem.

TSG 1899 HOFFENHEIM – Away

German Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is going retro with their away for 2022-23, made by Joma. The design is based on a shirt that the club wore as an amateur team in the 1990s. It’s mostly pale yellow, with navy blue streaks coming in from the top left and bottom right, some of which have lighter blue offset outlines overtop. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are navy blue, and the sponsor logos and club crest appear in one-colour navy blue applications.

FC NANTES – Home

French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes have drawn inspiration from a local historical landmark for their 2022-23 home kits, made by Macron. The embossed floral pattern on the yellow jersey is inspired by the Passage Pommeraye, a small shopping center in Nantes that was built in the 1840s. The shirt also features white and green striping on the crew neck collar and the sleeve cuffs.

GALATASARAY – Away

Another surprise kit debut in a preseason friendly happened on Tuesday, with Turkish Süper Lig powerhouses Galatasaray breaking out their new away kit for 2022-23 against Hungarian club Fehérvár FC. Like their home kit, Galatasaray’s away kit uses Nike’s new Vaporknit template, only this time it’s solid black with a tonal geometric pattern on the front. A yellow stripe runs down the right side of the shirt and a red stripe down the left side; this repeated in the side stripes on the shorts and in the cuffs of the socks that round out the kit.
