MLS, Liga MX Unveil Jerseys for Upcoming All-Star Game

Major League Soccer and Liga MX have unveiled the jerseys their respective all-star team will wear when they square off later this month.

The MLS All-Star Game will be held on August 10 at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. It will be the second year in a row that a team of MLS’s finest go up against the best from Mexico’s top domestic soccer league.

MLS unveiled its all-star jerseys on Monday, August 1. They combine a dark grey base with iridescent, color-shifting accents that celebrate the Northern Lights often seen in the Minnesota night skies. These accents include the MLS badge on the left chest and the Adidas shoulder stripes.

The sleeve cuffs and henley collar are solid gray. A raised silicone outline of the state of Minnesota with waves through it appears on the jock tag. A logo with “MN 22” and a pair of loon wings is printed on the back collar in Minnesota United’s signature shade of zenith blue.

Meanwhile, the Liga MX jerseys, made by Charly, are mostly white, with a black paintbrush stroke across the chest. The paintbrush stroke is also used at the top of the sleeves, which then become solid black.

The names of all 18 Liga MX clubs are included in various colors in the black areas of the jersey. The league logo sits on the left chest. White trim adorns each sleeve cuff, while a black insert is added at the front of the V-neck collar.
