The Denver Broncos on Tuesday afternoon unveiled their new “Snowcapped” white alternate helmets, though they won’t announce which games they’ll be worn until Aug. 17.
As expected, the helmet features a white facemask, navy blue/orange/navy blue stripe down the middle and the throwback bucking bronco logo in Denver’s current color scheme on both sides.
The helmets will be worn with Denver’s orange Color Rush uniform, which previously swapped the modern decals and stripes on the Broncos’ navy blue helmet with their classic stripes and logo.
This marks the first white helmet in franchise history, as Denver has only worn brown (1960-61), orange (1962-66) academy blue (1967-78), royal blue (1979-96) and navy blue (1997-present) helmets in the past.
As mentioned, the Broncos have not announced the dates they’ll wear their alternate helmets, but it’s worth noting they’ve only worn their Color Rush uniforms once each season since they were introduced in 2016.
The NFL only allows teams to wear alternate or throwback uniforms up to three times each year, leaving Denver to split their Color Rush and navy blue alternate jerseys among those three games.
