The Orlando Magic will bring back the ’90s as they celebrate their 35th season with a throwback uniform.
Unveiled this morning, Orlando’s 2023-24 “Classic Edition” uniform is blue with sublimated darker blue stars with subtle pinstripes. “Magic” is arched across the chest in white with black trim, a star dotting the ‘i’ and a second star acting in place of the ‘a’ in “Magic.”
It’s a straight-up copy of what the club wore on the road from 1998-99 until 2002-03, a five-season span in which the Magic made the NBA Playoffs four times but could not get out of the first round.

The release from the Magic reads:
Magic fans have long-since told stories about why their love for the team dates back to these self-defining years. It’s the period when the Magic came of age, showing who they were meant to be, a team that has always stood for hard work and determination, giving it everything they have every night. These traits have never faded over time, and they’re what makes Orlando a team fans are honored to cheer for. We celebrate the devotion of the fan with this year’s Classic uniform.
Later in the day, the Magic unveiled the classic throwback court design that they’ll use during home games in which these uniforms are worn:
This is the first time the Magic have thrown back to this era of uniform; previously they had only honoured the style of uniforms which came before this one – the style that was made most famous by the first few seasons of Shaquille O’Neal’s career.
