Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers are hoping to build stronger relationships with their community thanks to a new partnership with a homegrown company.
The Timbers announced on Thursday, November 15, that they’ve signed a deal with Portland-based home improvement services provider DaBella to become the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor and “official home improvement partner.” The DaBella logo will appear on the front of the Timbers’ home, away and specialty kits, as well as other club apparel.
“We are thrilled to partner with one of the fastest growing home improvement companies in the nation and look forward to seeing DaBella on our kits beginning in 2024,” Portland Timbers CEO Heather Davis said on the team’s website. “A company with roots in my hometown of Hillsboro, DaBella is uniquely positioned to use their resources to partner with us to make a positive impact in our community.”
The DaBella logo was displayed on the Timbers’ home jersey in the unveiling, which features a tonal plaid pattern. This jersey was introduced prior to the 2023 season, and will carry forward as the home kit through the 2024 season.
DaBella is a home improvement company that provides roofing, window, siding and bath replacement services. The company was founded in Portland in 2011, and has since grown to 46 locations in 17 states.
“It is a dream come true to partner with the Portland Timbers and give back to the community that helped us start this journey,” DaBella CEO Donnie McMillan, Jr. said in the announcement. “Portland is our home. Our alignment with the Timbers, an organization that shares our core values, will allow us to cultivate a positive impact to the local communities in which we serve.”
As part of the sponsorship deal, DaBella will establish a program to give new roofs to families in need that are nominated by Timbers fans. They’ll also introduce DaBella House, a semi-permanent structure at Providence Park that will add to the fan experience, including the chance to win seat upgrades. DaBella will also work with the Timbers on various community initiatives and sponsor Timbers Youth Camps.
According to the Timbers, the club partnered with Innovative Partnerships Group to find a new sponsor and broker the deal with DaBella.
DaBella replaces Alaska Airlines as the Timbers’ front-of-shirt sponsor. Alaska Airlines had been the Timbers’ jersey sponsor since they joined MLS in 2011.
