The American Hockey League’s Henderson Silver Knights are paying tribute to their local fanbase with their new third jersey.
The jersey was unveiled on the team’s social media channels on Thursday, December 28. It’s mostly black, with a silver coat of arms on the front with the Silver Knights’ primary logo in the center. Around that is another shield with Hs in the top right and bottom left quadrants and laurels. A knight’s helmet with “HH” in the visor and a ribbon along the bottom with “HOUSE HENDERSON” written on it in a blackletter front are a tribute to the team’s fans, which the team collectively refers to as “House Henderson.”
The Silver Knights also refer to individual fans as “Nobles” and their home arena, the Dollar Loan Center, as “The Stronghold.”
The arms of the jersey have metallic light grey, dark grey and gold stripes that come to a peak at the elbow. These “pay homage to the Silver Knights’ home and away sweaters, and their NHL affiliate, the Vegas Golden Knights,” according to the team. A similar striping pattern appears on the waist.
The captain’s and assistant captains’ patches feature a gold letter inside a silver outline of the state of Nevada.
The collar of the jersey is half black and half grey, with a black insert at the front. A Silver Knights logo patch appears on the right shoulder, while a Golden Knights logo appears on the left shoulder.
Numbers on the sleeves and back are metallic silver with black and gold outlines, while the names on the back are one-color gold.
The Silver Knights will wear the new third jersey on the ice for the first time on Saturday, December 30, against the Ontario Reign.
