Fresh off the successful unveiling of their Chris Farley–inspired Madison Motivational Speakers alternate identity, the collegiate summer level Madison Mallards unveiled a second temporary rebrand based on a meaty Wisconsin classic. The team will play one game as the Wisconsin Wurst for one game this summer.
The identity is based on an anthropomorphic bratwurst, with colors that the team identifies as bratwurst brown, mustard yellow, and sauerkraut cream. The jersey features the word Wurst set in encased meat, with traditional sausage toppings mustard and sauerkraut illustrated below. Checkered patterns on the sleeves evoke Oktoberfest in July.
The suite of logos includes the angry sausage character running with a flag that features a secondary mark, a standalone sausage W, which the team says signifies Wurst or Win (but not Wisconsin?), “depending on the day.”
The Wisconsin Wurst will take the field July 27.
