The Seattle Seahawks will celebrate their 50th season in 2025 with a commemorative logo, which they unveiled on social media on Tuesday afternoon.
“Since 1976, the Seahawks organization has made its mark on the Pacific Northwest and become known around the world for its championship mindset and passionate fan base,” team president Chuck Arnold said in a statement.
“Together with the 12s, we look forward to celebrating our 50th season throughout the coming year and shining a light on those who helped shape our incredible legacy into what it is today.”
The logo, which will be worn as a patch on the left shoulder of Seattle’s jerseys, prominently displays the No. 50 in two shades of blue, a nod to the Seahawks’ original royal blue and current navy blue.
The top of the logo features “EST 1976,” the year the Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers joined the NFL as expansion franchises, while Seattle’s primary logo is placed along the bottom of the No. 50.
There are also 12 feathers, which were introduced as a pattern on the collar, within the numbers and down the sides of the pants on the Seahawks’ uniforms in 2012. The number of feathers represents the fanbase, which is known as the 12s.
The Seahawks previously wore a commemorative logo on their pants to mark their 10th season in 1985, as well as on their jerseys to mark their 25th season in 2000. They also revealed a logo for their 30th season in 2005, but that was never worn.
