Minnesota Twins Announce Change to City Connect Uniforms, Cave to Fan Pressure

The Minnesota Twins listened to their fans, announcing a change to their City Connect uniforms this morning.

Accompanying a social media post in which the team humourously stated “Alright! We heard you!”, the Twins revealed they would no longer pair their City Connect uniform with blue pants, replacing them with a more traditional white set.

The video on the post shows white pants with two vertical stripes down the side, one blue and one yellow. Everything else about the uniform remains the same—a royal blue jersey with the “MN” logo in the upper left, along with a blue cap with yellow visor and the state of Minnesota on the crown.

Revealed in June of 2024, the Minnesota Twins City Connect uniform was the most recent to feature coloured pants, wrapping up a stretch in which ten of thirteen had similarly done so. Since then, it’s completely flipped, as all four City Connect uniforms (Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Washington Nationals, San Francisco Giants) were paired with white pants. We’re still awaiting new uniforms for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, and Miami Marlins in 2025.

The Twins have not worn their City Connect uniforms so far this season, though they’ve only played three home games. Typically, they’re reserved for Friday home games, which means we’ll probably see them tonight (and would also explain the timing of the announcement). The Twins last wore their blue pants on September 27, a 7-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.
