Highlighter Yellow Era Officially Over For Utah Jazz

When the Utah Jazz fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves to end their season on April 13, it officially marked the end of a brief era that saw the franchise wear highlighter yellow uniforms.

The Jazz introduced new white Association, highlighter yellow Icon and black Statement Edition uniforms in June 2022 and quickly realized they’d made a mistake, conducting a poll among fans less than six months later about a potential redesign.

As a result, the highlighter yellow Icon Edition design was worn just once during the 2023-24 season and then was scrapped entirely this season as Utah announced a two-year rollout of an entirely new set last summer.

Utah continued to wear its white Association and black Statement uniforms in 2024-25, though the latter was replaced midway through the season by another black design that prominently displayed the Jazz Note logo with mountains in the background and purple and light blue accents.

That left the white Association uniform as the only remaining piece of the 2022 redesign, with the Jazz going 6-22 in the set during its final season. They also went 1-7 in the new Statement set, which will remain part of Utah’s uniform rotation moving forward.

The Statement uniform will now be joined by new white Association and purple Icon Edition designs that take their cues from the Jazz’s 2023-24 City Edition set, including modernized gradient mountains across the chest and on the right leg of the shorts, as well as light blue and black accents.

Additionally, Utah will update its logos to reflect the new color scheme, which blends purple from its 1996-04 design with its light blue era from 2004-10. The Jazz will also have a new City Edition uniform and court designs, which will be unveiled ahead of next season.
