NHL Unveils Logo for 2026 Winter Classic in Miami

The National Hockey League has unveiled the official logo for the 2026 NHL Winter Classic, the annual outdoor game that will feature the Florida Panthers hosting the New York Rangers at Miami’s Loan Depot Park, home of baseball’s Marlins, on January 2, 2026.

This marks the first time the NHL Winter Classic, or any outdoor NHL game, will be held in Florida. It will be the 17th Winter Classic game and the 44th outdoor game in league history.

At the core of the new 2026 Winter Classic logo is the quite familiar scripted “Winter” wordmark, set in white and highlighted by a streaking hockey puck forming the dot over the letter “i.” The word “CLASSIC” appears directly below, stylized in pink and white neon-style lettering, likely a reference to Miami’s signature nightlife and Art Deco design aesthetic.

Above the wordmark, a brown palm tree with green fronds stands tall, complete with four coconuts and a slight dusting of snow sitting atop its leaves. At the base of the logo, “Miami” is written in a pink script font with a curved blue underline, resting atop a small mound of snow.

The overall result is a Winter Classic logo that continues the event’s tradition of paying tribute to each host while incorporating a few long-standing elements from past years; it’s one of the better examples of a “templated” event design out there.

This will be the first of two outdoor games held during the 2025–26 NHL season; both will be held within the state of Florida. The Tampa Bay Lightning will host the other, with the Boston Bruins coming to visit for the NHL Stadium Series on February 1, 2026, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Tickets for the 2026 NHL Winter Classic will go on sale to the general public beginning Wednesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. ET, available via Ticketmaster.
