Eagle-eyed followers of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on social media are speculating about a new gold jersey for the team after it was hinted at in a post on Monday, June 2.
The Canadian Football League team posted their 2025 uniform schedule to their social media channels on Thursday afternoon. The colours of the “AT” or “VS” block between the date and the opponent in the graphic indicates which jersey the Ticats will wear, and for five home games, those blocks indicate a yet-to-be-released gold jersey with black stripes.

The schedule shows the gold jersey will make its debut in the Ticats’ home opener on Saturday, June 14, against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The gold block in the graphic has four black stripes on either side — a similar pattern to the games in which they’ll wear their black home jerseys. This could mean the new gold jersey is a recolouring of the black jerseys, with a gold base and four black stripes on each sleeve.
The Tiger-Cats won’t wear their black home jerseys until Week 15 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. They’ll wear the black jerseys a total of three times during the 2025 regular season.

Meanwhile, Hamilton will wear its white road jerseys for eight of nine road games this season. They’ll also wear their grey “Made in the Hammer” alternate jerseys for one road game (Week 11 vs. Saskatchewan) and one home game (Week 4 vs. Montreal).

While they’ve traditionally stuck to black home and white road jerseys, the Ticats have dabbled in gold uniforms before. Most recently, they wore a gold alternate from 2006 to 2009. But they were also a staple of the team’s wardrobe from 1950 — when the Hamilton Tigers merged with the Hamilton Wildcats to form the Tiger-Cats we know today — until 1961.
