Cincinnati Bengals To Wear All-Orange Uniforms In Home Opener

The Cincinnati Bengals recently revealed they’ll wear their all-orange uniforms in their home opener for the second-consecutive season when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 9 (1 p.m. ET on CBS).

The Bengals introduced orange pants to their closet last season, pairing them with their standard orange helmets and orange alternate jerseys for the first time in a 16-10 loss to the New England Patriots on Sept. 8.

They were then worn with orange helmets and black jerseys in a 41-38 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 6 and a 24-6 win over the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 22, as well as orange helmets and white jerseys in a 34-27 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 17 and a 19-17 win at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Jan. 4.

The orange pants were a significant addition to the Bengals’ uniform rotation, as they only wore white pants from their inaugural season in 1968 through 2002 before adding black pants as an option in 2003.

They also did not have orange jerseys until they underwent a uniform redesign in 2004, pairing them with either black or white pants until last season. That also spanned another redesign ahead of the 2021 season.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati has not yet announced what game(s) it will wear its all-white alternate uniforms this season. The Bengals could also mix their white alternate helmets with their black home or orange alternate jerseys and black, orange or white pants for the first time after the NFL relaxed its uniform rules this offseason.
