Edmonton Oilers New Uniform a Tribute to “Oil Country”

The Edmonton Oilers officially unveiled their new “light-tan” third uniform, confirming a leaked photo that circulated earlier this month.

The uniform is a tribute to the industries of “Oil Country.” The cream base for a nostalgic and “broken-in” feeling, with blue shoulders trimmed with both orange and blue stripes, along with a literal blue collar, a nod to “how ‘Oil County’ was built.”

Across the chest is a scripted blue “Oilers” wordmark with orange lines above and below; this is a reference to “nostalgic brands that were trusted to keep machines running smoothly.” The scripted wordmark includes an oil drop inside the “s”.

A new shoulder patch features a blue and orange oil derrick inside a blue and orange roundel with “OIL COUNTRY” arched above and “EDM 1979” (the city abbreviation and the team’s first year in the NHL) below. Inside the back collar is “LET’S GO OILERS” in orange.

Player names are blue, numbers are blue with light-tan and orange trim. Sleeves and hem stripes are identical with a thick royal blue stripe trimmed in orange. A new hem loop tag features an orange oil drop on a blue background. Photos accompanying this release showed blue helmets and pants with light-tan socks.

The new uniform will be worn for seven games in the 2025-26 season, debuting on October 28th against the Utah Mammoth. Overall, it will make five appearances in Edmonton and two on the road. As this is classified as a third jersey, it will remain in the rotation for at least three seasons.
