Shohei Ohtani’s jersey tops MLB’s popularity list for the third consecutive season, the league announced today, just the fourth player to lead sales three straight years since tracking began in 2010 (Derek Jeter, Aaron Judge, and Mookie Betts are the others). Judge slots in at No. 2 with Ohtani’s Los Angeles Dodgers teammate Freddie Freeman rounding out the top three.
The Dodgers dominate the top of the board with three of the first four, Ohtani (1), Freeman (3) and Betts (4), plus the soon-to-be-retired Clayton Kershaw at No. 12, his 12th Top-20 finish. The New York Mets place three as well with Francisco Lindor (5), Juan Soto (6) and Pete Alonso (17). First-time entries this year include Jarren Duran (13) of the Boston Red Sox, Pete Crow-Armstrong (16) from the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes (18) and (newest member of the 60-homer club) Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners (20).
