Boston Celtics Reveal Championship-Inspired City Edition Uniforms For 2025-26

Earlier this week, the Boston Celtics unveiled their 2025-26 City Edition uniforms, which are a nod to their “timeless tradition of winning” and recolor their 2017-18 design that paid homage to their 2007-08 championship team.

The white jerseys display a gold “Boston” wordmark and numbers, which are both trimmed in black, making it the first uniform in Celtics history that doesn’t include a shade of green, while legendary coach Red Auerbach’s signature is shown above the jock tag.

There’s also a gold collar on the jersey, as well as gold and black side panels, which continue onto the shorts, though they weren’t shown in the reveal. They’ll feature the Celtics’ shamrock logo on the sides and their 2007-08 championship banner on the gold waistband.

One detail that is absent from this year’s design, however, is the iconic parquet hardwood floor design that was sublimated on the gray uniforms worn during the 2017-18 season. Boston also currently has a jersey patch partnership with Amica instead of General Electric.

“Notable teams, players and careers are weaved into our DNA, transcending time,” the Celtics said on Instagram. “To be a Celtic is to be someone who works hard, never gives up and never has excuses. As we look to our past, sit in our present and plan for the future, we will recognize the accomplishments of all that have come before us.”

During his 16 seasons as head coach from 1950-66, Auerbach led the franchise to nine NBA titles, including an unmatched run of eight straight championships from 1959-66. The Celtics lead the league with 18 titles, with their most recent coming during the 2023-24 season.

They’ve previously worn gold-accented alternate uniforms on St. Patrick’s Day from 2006-17, as well as gold-accented City Edition designs in 2019-20, 2022-23 and 2023-24. They did not reveal when they’ll wear this year’s City Edition uniforms, however.
