The (don’t call us Sacramento) Athletics are putting their temporary home front and center next season.
In a surprise unveiling today, the final day of the 2025 season, we unveiled a new yellow/gold alternate jersey for 2026, which will feature “Sacramento” in green script trimmed in white across the chest, accompanied by a green A’s logo on the left sleeve. Green piping, trimmed in white, is located near the end of each sleeve.
“Sacramento has welcomed the Athletics with incredible passion and support,” Athletics President Marc Badain said in the press release. “The new ‘Sacramento’ jersey is our way of recognizing that support and saying ‘thank you’ to the fans, businesses and community leaders who helped bring Major League Baseball to town.”

This jersey will replace the existing gold/yellow A’s jersey, which had only just recently been dusted off and worn throughout 2025. Before this season, the gold/yellow jersey hadn’t been worn since 2018, despite it never being officially eliminated from the team’s uniform options. This new uniform becomes the second alternate in the rotation alongside the popular Kelly green jersey, as well as the traditional home whites and road grays. This will be the only A’s jersey that doesn’t read “Athletics” across the front next season.
“I think it’s great,” Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson told The Sacramento Bee. “The main thing is that this is the city that we’re repping right now. So to be able to build a jersey that has the city of Sacramento on it is something that the fans will appreciate because we’re showing them that we appreciate them.”
The plan is for the A’s to wear this new gold/yellow jersey for every Saturday home game as part of a “Sacramento Saturdays” promotion. Players will also be allowed to wear it for any other game they choose, whether at home or on the road.
Before the 2025 season, the Athletics relocated from Oakland to West Sacramento, a move they said would only last for three seasons as they wait for their new ballpark in Las Vegas to open, expected to be around 2028. Along with the move, the franchise opted to play without any location in their name, choosing to operate as simply the “Athletics.” To give their new hometown fans something, they added a Sacramento-themed patch to one sleeve of their jerseys while striking an ad deal to wear a Las Vegas tourism ad on the other.
