New England Patriots To Wear New White Pants At New Orleans Saints

The New England Patriots unexpectedly unveiled new white pants earlier this week that will debut during Sunday’s game at the New Orleans Saints, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.

The white pants, which will be paired with their standard silver helmets, white road jerseys and white socks, feature the same striping pattern as their silver pants, with a single blue stripe flanked by two red stripes.

Excluding their “Pat Patriot” throwback uniforms, this marks the first time the Patriots have worn white pants since a win at Tampa Bay in 2017, when they countered the Buccaneers’ Color Rush uniforms with a monochromatic look of their own.

Aside from that game, New England has exclusively worn silver or navy blue pants with its standard navy blue or royal blue home and white road jerseys since 1993, when the franchise rebranded around its current “Flying Elvis” logo.

It’s unclear if the Patriots intend to wear their new pants beyond Sunday’s game, though it’s become trendy in recent seasons for teams to wear white pants and socks with their white road jerseys, as 25 teams did in at least one game last year.

They will wear white pants in at least two more games this season, though, as they’re scheduled to wear their “Rivalries” design against the New York Jets on Nov. 13 and their throwback uniforms against the New York Giants on Dec. 1.

The “Rivalries” pants feature “Storm Blue” and metallic silver stripes, complete with a subtle fishing net pattern, while the throwback pants include a classic red, white and royal blue design down the sides.

That said, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Patriots break out their new white pants again when they travel to Tampa Bay on Nov. 9 given the aforementioned victory in 2017.

The Saints, meanwhile, will wear their standard gold helmets with their black jerseys, pants and socks on Sunday. This has become their de facto home look in recent seasons, having worn gold pants (aside from a throwback games) just once since 2022.
