Baltimore Ravens To Wear “Purple Rising” Alternate Uniforms On Thanksgiving Night

The Baltimore Ravens will wear their “Purple Rising” alternate helmets and Color Rush uniforms during their Thanksgiving matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, which kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.

Introduced ahead of the 2024 season, the metallic purple helmets – the first alternate lids in franchise history – debuted under similar circumstances in a 35-34 win over the Bengals on Thursday Night Football last November.

They feature the Ravens’ front-facing secondary logo on the sides, two gold “talon” stripes down the center and a gold facemask, which was recently borrowed by the Miami RedHawks for their “Cradle of Coaches” alternate threads.

The helmets will be paired with Baltimore’s all-purple Color Rush uniforms, which follow the same design as their standard purple home jerseys but include predominantly gold numbers instead of white.

The Ravens are 5-2 in their Color Rush uniforms – which are complete with purple pants with gold and white stripes down the sides and purple socks – since they debuted during the 2016 season.

It’ll likely be their only appearance this season, though teams are now allowed to mix-and-match alternate and primary uniform elements and can wear an alternate or throwback uniform as many as four times each year.

Both teams will also honor late Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster John Madden by wearing a patch on their jerseys on Thursday night, joining the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs earlier in the day.
