The Chicago White Sox are adding a jersey advertisement patch for the first time in franchise history, announcing a multi-year agreement with Chicago-based CME Group starting with the upcoming 2026 season.
The CME Group patch will appear on the White Sox home white, road grey, alternate black, and red City Connect uniforms. The team will begin wearing the patch during Spring Training and will continue to do so throughout the regular season and, should they be so fortunate, the Postseason. A graphic released alongside the announcement shows the club will do what most teams have done since MLB introduced jersey ads, by placing the patch on each player’s camera-facing arm.
The patch itself is a square trimmed in black, featuring a blue globe logo with “CME” written below. The White Sox will use a different coloured version of the patch depending on the jersey: a white patch with black trim on their home whites, the road greys replace the white with grey, and the alternate uniforms will use a black square with “CME” in white below the globe.
The club told MLB.com that it spent time looking for a partner with a connection to Chicago before making its first-ever jersey patch decision. White Sox executive vice president Brooks Boyer said the team wanted a jersey sponsor that’s aligned with the team’s values and ties to the city.

Under the terms of the deal, CME Group will also serve as the team’s official global exchange partner and have an ad fixed behind home plate.
The patch is scheduled to debut on the field when the White Sox open its Spring Training schedule in Arizona on February 20 against the Chicago Cubs; it will make its regular season debut on the road in Milwaukee against the Brewers on March 26.
This leaves the Tampa Bay Rays as the only Major League Baseball team to never wear an advertisement on their in-game uniforms.
