The Atlanta Braves today announced they’d be wearing an advertisement for concrete and cementitious products manufacturer Quikrete on their jersey sleeves starting with their game tomorrow (Friday, May 19) against the Seattle Mariners.
According to the press release, Quikrete is an Atlanta-headquartered company which is the largest manufacturer of packaged concrete and cement mixes in the U.S. and Canada.

“Our expanded partnership with Quikrete ushers in a new era for our team, as this will be the first time in the organization’s 152-year history that our jerseys will feature a sponsored logo,” said Derek Schiller, President and CEO of the Atlanta Braves in the release. “With the visibility of this opportunity, it was important for us to engage a trusted partner, industry leader, and a company with a history of supporting the Braves and the Atlanta community.”
The patch shows a large yellow bag of packaged concrete and/or cement mix trimmed in black with the company name across it in black.

The Braves are the eleventh Major League Baseball club to add an advertisement to their jersey sleeves; the league permitted teams to do so beginning with the 2023 season. The other clubs to do so (thus far) are the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, Miami Marlins, New York Mets, San Diego Padres, and St. Louis Cardinals.
At this moment, there are currently 19 MLB teams that do not wear an advertisement on their sleeves.
