Blue Jackets Bring Back the Cannon Uniform

This morning the Columbus Blue Jackets officially announced they would be bringing back the navy-blue and vintage-white alternate uniform the team wore from 2010 through 2017.

Now on the more modern Adidas Adizero jersey cut, the uniform features a main crest which includes a depiction of the 1857 Napoleon Cannon stationed at Nationwide Arena, the cannon in/famous for firing after every Blue Jackets goal at home. The cannon is surrounded by a Civil War medal-inspired ribbon with a star at its base in recognition of Columbus being the state capital of Ohio.

All the other details from this jersey’s first go-round have been carried over to the new uniform, the inside collar again says “We Fight, We March!”; the name and number font remains the same as before (but now it gets to match the home and road set); and the interior of the jersey has ten embroidered stars which were originally added in recognition of the club’s tenth anniversary (as it was when this jersey was first introduced in 2010).

Columbus will wear their familiar alternate/third uniform a dozen times in the quickly approaching 2018-2019 NHL season, all of which will be home games. Here’s the full schedule:
