Boise State Broncos To Wear Vintage Logo On Helmet For Homecoming Game Against Nevada Wolf Pack

The Boise State football program will wear a new orange helmet design featuring a vintage logo on both sides during Saturday’s homecoming game against Nevada (3:30 p.m. ET on FS1).

The Broncos have not worn this logo on their helmets before, though it did appear at the 50-yard line on the original blue turf at Albertsons Stadium when it was installed in 1986. It features a bucking orange bronco with the outline of the state of Idaho behind it.

Boise State has updated the logo to feature thicker blue and orange strokes around the state and simplified the bronco to give it a more modern feel.

The Broncos have worn orange helmets in the past, including when they were known as Boise College from 1957-69, as well as select games during the 2014-15 and 2017-2020 seasons.

The original helmets were plain with a single blue stripe down the center while most recently usage included a large chrome bronco head on one side and numbers on the other with a chrome facemask.
