The Carolina Panthers will once again wear their black alternate helmets during Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, which kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
This marks the second consecutive home game against the Falcons that the Panthers will wear the helmets, which debuted last season and feature light blue decals and a black facemask.
The helmets will be paired with Carolina’s all-black Color Rush uniforms, just like they were during last year’s 25-15 win over Atlanta on Thursday Night Football.
“I’m a big, big fan,” rookie quarterback Bryce Young said this week when asked about the uniforms. “Very excited for them.”
Complementing the uniforms, Sunday is also the Panthers’ “Inspire Change” game, which includes a celebration of Black culture and performances at halftime and during timeouts by HBCU bands and dancers.
Prior to last season, Carolina exclusively wore silver helmets dating back to their inaugural season in 1995. Their uniforms have remained largely unchanged, as well.
