Charleston RiverDogs to celebrate Dumb anniversary

Just when you think minor league baseball promos couldn’t be any dumber, they go and do something like this—and totally redeem themselves.

For every reader who has ever commented on one of these posts that a certain minor league baseball promotion is the dumbest thing they’ve ever seen, the Charleston RiverDogs are triple-stamping your double stamp.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the movie Dumb and Dumber, the RiverDogs will host the “Dumbest Night of the Year.” The team will wear uniforms that evoke the Mutt Cutts van, the customized 1984 Ford Econoline Shaggin’ Wagon that Harry and Lloyd drive to Aspen in the movie.

The evening includes free entry for anyone named Harry or Lloyd, a stadium-wide “Most Annoying Sound in the World,” and a giveaway of a trip to Aspen for one lucky fan. (With roughly 4,400 fans in attendance, we’re telling you there’s a chance.)

The promo will take place August 12 in a game against the Columbia Fireflies.
