Durham Bulls to play in ‘Canes colors on Hockey Night

The Triple-A Durham Bulls will reprise their annual tradition of playing in a look borrowed from their neighbors, the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes. The Bulls will ditch their familiar blue and burnt orange in favor of the red and black worn by the Hurricanes, who play about 20 miles away in Raleigh.

The Bulls’ jerseys will evoke the ‘Canes brand primarily through the use of color, as well as through a motif of sequential red squares, which are meant to reflect hurricane storm warning flags. While the ‘Canes feature those squares along the base of their sweaters, the Bulls will place them on their sleeves and within the signature Durham D logo.

The Bulls have been partnering with the Hurricanes on Hockey Night since 2018, changing the look with each iteration. This year, the Bulls will take the field in ‘Canes colors September 1 against the Nashville Sounds.
