The ECHL’s Newfoundland Growlers have announced a new alternate gold uniform for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
It’s being referred to as the “Regiment Gold” jersey and is sliding into the team’s usual rotation which already includes their “Sable Chief Black” and “Iceberg White” set.
With a gold base the jersey includes the Growlers’ Creamer Award-winning primary logo on the chest, black shoulder piping (it matches their whites, but hockey designers, please stop using this style), a black collar, and white and black horizontal stripes at both the ends of the sleeves and around the waist.
The primary purpose of the jersey is as an incentive for fans to upgrade to the clubs’ Regiment Gold program, fans can only obtain the jersey by being a member.
No patches will be worn on the shoulders of the jersey to allow fans to add their own Regiment Gold Program patches, a “unique and ever-evolving series of patches that can be collected” and then added to the jersey, the patches will feature memorable moments in Growlers team history.
The team is expected to announce the full schedule of when they will wear their new gold uniform, as of now they say they will be worn “during select home games that celebrate” the members of this gold club.
The Growlers are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs.
