When the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears do something, they don’t do it in half-measures. The latest evidence of this comes in the form of their uniforms for their first-ever White Out Night coming up this weekend.
The Solar Bears unveiled their uniforms for White Out Night — or, more properly, “Shades’ White Out Night,” named after the team’s polar bear mascot — on social media on Friday, January 26. They’ll wear the uniforms when they host the Atlanta Gladiators on Saturday, January 27.
As expected, the base of the jersey is white, with no extraneous striping to be found anywhere. A black and silver version of the team’s skating bear logo — which also appears on their black alternate jersey — is on the front of the jersey. Sponsor logos on the front and back, along with names and numbers on the back and sleeves are silver.
The jerseys are paired with solid white helmets, pants, gloves and socks to complete the white-out look. The black-and-silver skating bear also appears on the front of the left leg of the pants.
The Solar Bears also tweeted out a photo of a black and silver version of the team’s primary logo, which presumably sits on the shoulders of the jersey.
Fans who come out to the AdventHealth Rink at Kia Center on Saturday can get in on the white-out action with a free T-shirt while supplies last. The shirts are white with a one-color black version of the Solar Bears’ primary logo on the front. Puck drop on Saturday is at 7 p.m. ET.
This isn’t even the only specialty jersey the Solar Bears have donned this week, though. On Tuesday, January 23, they wore special pink jerseys to celebrate their third annual Pink Whitney Night at the Kia Center, with Barstool Sports personalities Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney in attendance.
The jerseys for Pink Whitney Night were (of course) pink, with a white stripe bordered in pink and black stripes and white stars across the chest. A pink and black version of the Solar Bears’ primary logo sat on top of the stripe, with the bear sporting a helmet to mimic the logo of Pink Whitney, the vodka cocktail popularized by Whitney and Bissonnette.
